AECOM is seeking a Materials Engineer - Infrastructure Quality Control in Abu Dhabi to lead on-site material control across roads and civil infrastructure. You will review submittals, coordinate laboratories, and ensure test results meet project specifications.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Monitor material-related activities across infrastructure, road, and civil construction works.
  • Review material submittals against approved specifications, drawings, standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Assess manufacturers' technical data sheets, product information, samples, certificates, and supporting compliance documentation.
  • Verify that proposed construction materials satisfy specified technical and performance requirements before approval.
  • Review laboratory reports and field test results and determine compliance with applicable acceptance criteria.
  • Monitor sampling and testing activities to ensure approved procedures and frequencies are followed.
  • Coordinate material inspections with contractors, supervision teams, laboratories, suppliers, and other project participants.
  • Inspect materials delivered to site and compare products against approved submittals and supporting documentation.
  • Confirm material identification, condition, certification, and conformity before acceptance for construction use.
  • Identify unsuitable, damaged, unapproved, or non-compliant materials and ensure they are appropriately controlled.
  • Raise or support non-conformance documentation where material requirements have not been achieved.
  • Monitor corrective actions relating to rejected materials and verify satisfactory resolution before acceptance.
  • Maintain accurate registers covering material submissions, approvals, samples, test results, inspections, and outstanding actions.
  • Track material approval status and identify delays that could affect construction activities.
  • Coordinate with testing laboratories to obtain timely results and clarify technical findings where required.
  • Review testing information for consistency with project specifications and approved construction standards.
  • Provide materials engineering guidance to the Resident Engineer and QA/QC personnel.
  • Support investigation of material quality issues encountered during construction.
  • Assist site supervision teams in interpreting material requirements and applicable acceptance criteria.
  • Maintain traceable records supporting project quality audits, technical reviews, and final documentation.
