Job summary

Parsons is seeking an amazingly talented Marine Inspector to join our team on a civil marine engineering mega-project in Abu Dhabi. You will tackle engineering challenges with a highly professional construction supervision team and ensure compliance with drawings and standards.

The role requires 7+ years of marine experience, strong knowledge of piling, quay walls, and concrete testing, and a focus on safety with meticulous inspection records to support project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of marine experience.
• Knowledge of structural construction operations, marine works, excavation/backfill, pile/foundation installation, beach formation, rock revetment, quay wall, water surroundings.
• Drainage knowledge on infrastructure projects including open-cut excavation, trenching, grading.
• Knowledge of dredging operations.
• Piling installation experience including driven concrete piles, pipe piles, sheet piles, and combi wall structures.
• Stockpile management and onsite trucking management experience.
• Mass excavation and backfilling on the sea experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of marine works such as revetments, seawalls and quay walls with adherence to drawings, specifications and design standards.
• Monitor workmanship to meet highest standards.
• Identify and report deviations, defects, or discrepancies; recommend corrective actions.
• Review shop drawings to understand project requirements.
• Inspect reinforcement steel (rebar) placement for proper spacing, alignment, and anchorage.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project managers to address structural issues.
• Witness and verify tests related to marine works (concrete strength, rebar tests, soil compaction).
• Promote safe practices during handling and construction of marine/structural components.
• Maintain detailed inspection records and prepare reports for project team.

What You'll Be Doing :

• Conducting regular inspections of marine works such as revetments, seawalls and quay walls Ensuring construction activities align with approved drawings, specifications, and design standards.
• Monitoring workmanship to ensure adherence to the highest standards.
• Identifying and reporting deviations, defects, or discrepancies, and recommending corrective actions.
• Reviewing shop drawings to understand project requirements.
• Inspecting reinforcement steel (rebar) placement for proper spacing, alignment, and anchorage.
• Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and project managers to address structural issues.
• Witnessing and verifying tests related to marine works, including concrete compressive strength, rebar tensile tests, and soil compaction tests.
• Promoting safe practices during the handling and construction of marine/structural components.
• Maintaining detailed inspection records and preparing reports for the project team.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring :

• Requires bachelor's degree with minimum 7 years of experience in marine work.
• Have a working knowledge of structural construction operations, construction of marine works, excavation and backfill operations, pile/foundation installation, beach formation, rock revetment, quay wall, work in and around water and concrete installation.
• Technical knowledge of drainage on infrastructure projects, including open-cut excavation, trenching, grading, and general construction work in and around sensitive watercourses.
• Knowledge of Dredging Operations.
• Piling Installation experience including driven concrete piles, pipe piles, sheet piles, and combi wall structures
• Stockpile management and onsite trucking management experience.
• Mass excavation and Backfilling on the sea Experience.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring :

• Extensive knowledge of supervisory functions relating to construction field activities
• Experience and piling/foundation installation and marine construction.
• Sound communication skills.
• Sound interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Experience in Civil construction on large projects in the Marine Environment.
• GCC experience is an advantage.
