Key Responsibilities
  • Work independently on assigned marine engineering tasks under the guidance of the Resident Engineer.
  • Support or lead civil and marine engineering activities on small to medium project work packages.
  • Monitor daily marine construction works to ensure compliance with safety, quality, technical, and environmental requirements.
  • Oversee marine construction activities including sub‑structure concreting, sheet piling, dredging, and related coastal works.
  • Review design drawings, shop drawings, method statements, inspection test plans, project risks, and technical submissions.
  • Check that marine and coastal works comply with applicable codes, standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Scope and support surveys, studies, and site investigations for marine and coastal development works.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies to support construction progress and schedule control.
  • Provide technical guidance on efficient and economical engineering solutions for complex site and construction challenges.
  • Support inspection activities and help verify that materials, workmanship, and construction methods meet approved requirements.
  • Maintain awareness of current marine and coastal engineering technologies, industry practices, and professional standards.
  • Communicate site observations, technical concerns, and recommended actions clearly to the Resident Engineer and project team.
  • Support health, safety, and environmental compliance across all marine site activities.
  • Perform additional responsibilities related to marine engineering and site supervision as required by the project.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline is required.
  • Minimum 10 years of related work experience in marine structural and coastal engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of marine construction methods, coastal works, sub‑structure works, sheet piling, and dredging operations.
  • Ability to perform in a lead technical capacity when required.
  • Thorough understanding of current marine and coastal engineering design standards, guidelines, and industry practices.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes, regulations, construction supervision procedures, and environmental controls.
  • Experience with local approving authorities for marine and coastal works in the GCC will be an advantage.
  • Strong ability to review drawings, shop drawings, method statements, inspection plans, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Professional approach to contractor coordination, site supervision, risk awareness, and construction problem solving.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, suppliers, authorities, and multidisciplinary project teams.
