Job summary

Confidential Company in Dubai seeks a seasoned Manager Shipping to lead end-to-end shipping, import/export operations, and logistics for a multi-plant steel pipes operation. You will drive documentation, vendor negotiations, and cost optimization across the group.

The role requires 10+ years in shipping/logistics within manufacturing, strong UAE regulatory knowledge, and proven leadership to develop a high-performing team and optimize cross-unit processes. UAE-based, on-site role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in shipping, import/export operations or logistics management, with proven experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment (steel, metals, or pipes preferred).
• Strong knowledge of UAE customs procedures, JAFZA/free zone regulations and international trade documentation.
• Hands-on experience with letters of credit, incoterms and freight negotiation.
• Proven ability to manage logistics across multiple business units/locations.
• Strong negotiation, coordination and team leadership skills.
• Proficiency with ERP/logistics systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end shipping operations, including import/export documentation, freight booking, customs clearance, and port coordination across multiple manufacturing units.
• Oversee letters of credit, bills of lading, certificates of origin and other trade documentation in compliance with UAE JAFZA regulations.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers and port authorities to ensure timely, cost-effective movement of raw materials and finished goods.
• Plan and optimise container vessel bookings to meet production and customer delivery schedules.
• Liaise with sales, production and warehouse teams to align shipping schedules with order commitments.
• Monitor freight costs, negotiate rates with logistics service providers and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure full compliance with international trade regulations, incoterms and customs requirements across group entities.
• Maintain shipment tracking and documentation records and MIS reporting for management review.
• Lead and develop a team handling import/export and shipping coordination.
