Le Méridien in Abu Dhabi is seeking a cook to prepare meals, regulate oven temperatures, thaw and portion foods, and maintain logs and quality. You will collaborate with the Chef and F&B staff to update specials and manage in‑kitchen communications.

Responsibilities include cooking to recipes, assisting in hiring and training, and upholding safety, uniform standards, and asset protection. The role requires stamina, precision, and a team‑oriented approach in a busy hotel kitchen.

Formación

• At least 3 years of related work experience.
• Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
• License or Certification: None.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare special meals or substitute items.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill, and roaster temperatures.
• Thaw frozen items in the refrigerator and prepare/portion plates.
• Maintain food logs and monitor quality/quantity of prepared foods.
• Inform Chef of excess items for daily specials and staff of menu changes.
• Prepare and cook according to recipes, standards, and checklists; prepare cold foods.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling and coaching employees; be a role model.
• Follow safety policies, report maintenance needs, accidents, and unsafe conditions.
• Maintain clean professional appearance; protect company assets and confidentiality.
• Anticipate guests' service needs; communicate clearly with staff; build positive team relationships.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and stand/walk for long periods; lift up to 25 lbs.
