Job summary

Fairmont The Palm is seeking a Learning & Development professional to identify training needs and develop cost‑effective initiatives supporting hotel goals. You will oversee onboarding, policy adherence and the overall training calendar with ownership of quarterly programs.

You will partner with Department Heads to tailor programs, monitor budgets, and drive guest‑centric service culture across Heartists while refining PDPs and annual plans.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in L&D within hospitality
• Knowledge of luxury hotel standards
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with management to ensure onboarding and training programs are in place for Heartists.
• Oversee on‑the‑job training tools and lead ongoing training initiatives with record-keeping.
• Coordinate new hire orientation to create a positive first impression and emphasize guest service culture.
• Ensure attendance by new hires and leadership in training programs.
• Develop an annual Training Plan aligned to appraisal and PDP goals and hotel objectives.
• Liaise with Department Heads to identify training needs and arrange courses and actions.
• Monitor the training budget with the Director of Talent & Culture and adjust as needed.
• Source, schedule and deliver training courses from the calendar to maximize participation.
• Provide advisory support on training opportunities, career paths, and qualifications.
• Build links with universities, training providers and other partners.
