Job summary

Penspen is seeking a Lead Construction Engineer for offshore fabrication activities in Abu Dhabi. The role entails leading offshore teams, overseeing installation, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance on major wellhead jacket projects.

The candidate should bring 15+ years in construction with at least 5 years offshore; EPC experience and ADNOC project exposure are highly valued. Onsite work in Abu Dhabi is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Piping or related).
• 15+ years total experience with at least 5 years offshore oil and gas construction.
• Experience in EPC environments and offshore construction practices.
• Knowledge of ADNOC Offshore projects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage offshore construction teams, including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Oversee installation, hookup, and commissioning of offshore facilities (platforms, pipelines, subsea structures).
• Ensure construction activities align with schedules, budgets, and technical specs.
• Provide technical guidance to resolve construction challenges and ensure standards.
• Review and approve construction drawings, procedures, and method statements.
• Enforce strict HSE standards during offshore operations.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for high-risk activities.
• Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, and client representatives to align goals.
• Facilitate daily briefings, progress reviews, and reporting to senior management.
• Develop and implement hookup strategies and offshore construction plans.
• Monitor progress and adjust plans for delays or issues.

Qualifications & Skills Required

• Minimum 15+ years of overall experience including of 5 years extensive offshore oil and gas construction experience, especially in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) environment
• Strong experience in Offshore - Fabrication of Wellhead Towers, Subsea cable, brownfield, piping erection, mechanical equipment installation, and Jackets topside construction
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with regional regulations and offshore construction practices.
• PMC experience will be preferred
• Previous experience in the ADNOC Offshore projects in the similar role would be an added advantage.
