Job summary

Penspen in Abu Dhabi, UAE, is seeking a dynamic Lead Engineer Construction- Offshore for an offshore PMC project. You will lead and manage offshore construction teams and oversee installation, hookup, and commissioning of platforms, pipelines, and subsea structures.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 18–20+ years in the industry, with 5–8+ years offshore leadership. GCC and ADNOC exposure are highly valued for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
• 18–20+ years of relevant experience, including 5–8+ years offshore.
• Minimum 5+ years in a similar leadership position.
• 5–8+ years of offshore project experience.
• GCC experience is mandatory, preferably ADNOC Group exposure.
• PMC/EPC background is preferred.
• Previous ADNOC project experience in a similar role is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage offshore construction teams including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Oversee installation, hookup, and commissioning of offshore facilities.
• Ensure construction activities align with schedules, budgets, and specs.
• Provide technical guidance to resolve construction challenges and ensure standards.
• Review and approve drawings, procedures, and method statements.
• Deliver FEED constructability reviews and offshore scope reports.
• Enforce HSE standards during offshore operations.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation for high-risk activities.
• Collaborate with PMs, design engineers, and client reps to align goals.
• Facilitate daily briefings, progress reviews, and reporting to senior management.
• Develop hookup strategies and offshore construction plans.
• Monitor progress and adjust plans to address delays.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage offshore construction teams , including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Oversee the installation, hookup, and commissioning of offshore facilities such as platforms, pipelines, and subsea structures.
• Ensure all construction activities align with project schedules, budgets, and technical specifications.
• Provide technical guidance to resolve construction-related challenges and ensure engineering standards are met.
• Review and approve construction drawings, procedures, and method statements.
• Deliver FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) constructability reviews and reports for offshore scopes.
• Enforce strict adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards during all offshore operations.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for high-risk activities.
• Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, and client representatives to align construction goals.
• Facilitate daily briefings, progress reviews, and reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop and implement hookup strategies and offshore construction plans.
• Monitor progress and adjust plans to address delays or unforeseen issues.

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree Engineering in relevant discipline from accredited university.
• Minimum 18 to 20+ years of relevant experience, with at least 5 to 8+ years in offshore project.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in similar position.
• 5 to 8+ years' experience in offshore Projects
• Preferred experience from Top Oil & Gas Operators/ PMC/ EPC Background.
• GCC experience is mandatory, preferably within ADNOC Group companies.
• PMC experience will be preferred
• Previous experience in the ADNOC projects in the similar role would be an added advantage
