Salary: 8,000–13,000 AED per month

Responsibilities

• Inspect soft landscaping, hard landscaping, irrigation, and related public realm works to ensure strict compliance with approved plans and specifications.
• Check site conditions and provide practical advice on construction matters affecting landscape quality, sequencing, workmanship, and maintainability.
• Maintain a detailed daily diary covering work activities, site issues, approved or rejected work, working hours, labor, equipment, and contractor progress.
• Sign and maintain daily inspection records at the end of each working day.
• Interface with residents, business owners, and members of the public near the work area to help reduce construction disruption and improve coordination.
• Coordinate daily with the contractor foreman to verify proper execution of landscape and irrigation works.
• Work with the Materials Technician to arrange sampling and testing of completed work and quality assurance checks for suspect materials.
• Report questionable contractor methods, unsafe practices, or poor workmanship to the Resident Engineer.
• Notify the Resident Engineer when contractor work does not conform to approved plans, specifications, or required quality standards.
• Process joint measurement forms and maintain updated records of their status.
• Keep accurate records of completed works for interim payments, final payments, and as-built documentation.
• Maintain detailed records of contractor activities performed on a day-works basis.
• Document contractor activities, delays, site instructions, and events that may lead to claims.
• Deal with contractors fairly and firmly while considering alternatives and consequences before making site decisions.
• Issue instructions to the foreman in charge of the work through proper project channels and avoid unnecessary disputes with contractor representatives.
• Inform the Resident Engineer when site conditions make specification enforcement impractical or unreasonable.
• Report and document any site accident immediately and notify the Resident Engineer without delay.
• Enforce work performance in accordance with the approved safety plan.
• Support inspection close-out, quality documentation, site coordination, and other responsibilities related to landscape works as required.

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Landscape Engineering, Agriculture Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• UAE Ministry of Education equivalency certificate is mandatory.
• Minimum 4 years of demonstrable experience in landscaping, irrigation, operations, and maintenance related to public realm projects.
• Ability to read and interpret working drawings, landscape plans, irrigation layouts, specifications, and construction details.
• Strong capability to enforce project specifications and identify work that does not meet approved requirements.
• Experience working on Abu Dhabi Municipality projects is preferred.
• ADM approval as Landscape Inspector is an advantage.
• Fully computer literate with the ability to access records, maintain documentation, and generate reports.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with project teams, contractors, residents, and business owners.
• Practical understanding of site inspection, quality assurance, day-work records, joint measurements, and contractor coordination.
• Ability to remain fair, firm, and professional when dealing with contractor representatives.
• Strong attention to detail and disciplined recordkeeping habits.
