Parsons Corporation seeks a senior landscape specialist to review contractor submissions, resolve site‑related design matters, inspect completed works, and ensure large‑scale landscape projects meet contractual, environmental, safety, and authority requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate landscape design activities with the client, designers, contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Resolve site issues affecting hardscape, softscape, irrigation systems, planting areas, and public realm elements.
- Develop landscape proposals that reflect client requirements, project objectives, site conditions, and approved concepts.
- Review contractor submissions against contract drawings, specifications, schedules, and approved design requirements.
- Assess shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, technical proposals, samples, and installation details.
- Recommend approval, revision, or rejection of technical submissions based on documented compliance.
- Review contractor and subcontractor prequalification submissions and advise the client on technical capability.
- Conduct regular inspections of landscape and irrigation works throughout construction.
- Monitor soil preparation, grading, drainage, planting, paving, edging, external finishes, and hardscape installation.
- Inspect irrigation pipelines, valves, chambers, controllers, pumps, sprinklers, emitters, and associated components.
- Verify that irrigation layouts and equipment provide suitable water coverage for each planting type.
- Inspect trees, shrubs, ground covers, palms, and other plant material at nurseries or external sources before delivery.
- Confirm plant species, size, health, root condition, quantity, and suitability for the regional climate.
- Apply detailed knowledge of plant water requirements, growth habits, soil preferences, and maintenance needs.
- Review CAD drawings, engineering details, planting plans, irrigation layouts, and technical schedules.
- Coordinate interfaces with roads, utilities, drainage, structures, lighting, architecture, and MEP services.
- Identify discrepancies between approved drawings and actual site conditions and recommend workable solutions.
- Monitor contractor workmanship and verify that installations follow approved procedures and quality standards.
- Record inspection findings, technical comments, photographs, non‑conforming work, and required corrective actions.
- Follow up rejected work and confirm that deficiencies are resolved before acceptance.
- Provide technical guidance to field personnel, inspectors, and contractor teams when clarification is required.
- Ensure landscape activities comply with health, safety, environmental, and sustainability requirements.
- Verify compliance with local authority regulations, statutory requirements, international standards, and project specifications.
- Support testing and commissioning of irrigation systems and related landscape equipment.
- Review as‑built information, maintenance documentation, warranties, and handover records.
- Assist with snagging, de‑snagging, final inspections, project closeout, and landscape asset handover.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in landscape and irrigation design or construction supervision.
- Strong professional exposure to major landscape, public realm, infrastructure, or master development projects.
- Previous UAE landscape engineering experience is preferred.
- Proven ability to operate in a senior or management capacity.
- Detailed understanding of hardscape construction, softscape installation, planting, and irrigation systems.
- Extensive knowledge of plant species suitable for Dubai and the wider GCC climate.
- Experience selecting and inspecting trees, shrubs, palms, and other landscape materials at nurseries.
- Ability to interpret landscape drawings, CAD files, specifications, planting schedules, and contract documents.
- Strong experience reviewing shop drawings, material submissions, technical proposals, and method statements.
- Knowledge of local authority requirements and international landscape standards.
- Understanding of construction health, safety, environmental protection, and sustainability practices.
- Ability to manage contractors, resolve site issues, and coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Effective reporting, leadership, decision‑making, and stakeholder coordination capabilities.
