Job Overview
Assistant Resident Engineer - Landscape in Dubai is an opportunity for an experienced construction supervision professional who can manage landscape works, irrigation networks, hardscape, softscape, public realm assets, and project handover activities. The role is ideal for a senior landscape supervision specialist with strong knowledge of Dubai authority standards, QA/QC procedures, contractor coordination, construction documentation review, and large‑scale infrastructure or master community development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise landscape construction works including hardscape, softscape, irrigation networks, parks, playgrounds, jogging tracks, street furniture, and public realm areas.
- Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, inspection test plans, and technical submissions related to landscape and irrigation works.
- Ensure landscape activities are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, authority requirements, and project quality standards.
- Monitor site progress and coordinate with contractors to support timely completion of works in line with approved construction programmes.
- Inspect plants, trees, irrigation components, paving materials, external finishes, and landscape materials before installation.
- Coordinate with infrastructure, utilities, architecture, structural, and MEP teams to resolve site interface issues.
- Conduct regular site inspections and prepare snagging reports, non‑conformance reports, and corrective action follow‑up records.
- Verify completed works, measurements, and quantities for contractor progress valuations and payment applications.
- Ensure proper implementation of health, safety, and environmental requirements across all landscape site activities.
- Review and verify as‑built drawings, operation manuals, and maintenance manuals related to landscape and irrigation works.
- Attend technical meetings, progress meetings, and coordination sessions with contractors, clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Support testing and commissioning activities for irrigation systems, water features, and related landscape assets.
- Assist with project closeout, final inspections, authority coordination, and handover of landscape assets to the client or end user.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports covering landscape activities, issues, site progress, and completed works.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
- Minimum 12‑15 years of experience in landscape construction supervision projects.
- GCC or UAE project experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of hardscape, softscape, irrigation systems, public realm works, and landscape construction methodologies.
- Experience in large‑scale infrastructure, residential, mixed‑use, or master community development projects.
- Familiarity with Dubai Municipality standards and relevant UAE authority requirements.
- Strong ability to review construction documentation, technical submissions, drawings, and site reports.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and construction documentation review.
- Knowledge of horticulture practices and plant specifications suitable for the GCC climate will be an advantage.
- Experience in authority inspections and asset handover procedures will be preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple contractors and coordinate interdisciplinary construction works.
- Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, construction safety standards, and site supervision practices.
- Excellent communication, coordination, reporting, and problem‑solving skills.
