Role Context

The Land Surveyor - Stormwater Projects will support site supervision teams by carrying out field surveys, setting‑out checks, level verification, control point checks, benchmark verification, quantity measurements, and survey record preparation. The role is important for ensuring that infrastructure and stormwater works are built in line with approved drawings, specifications, survey controls, and Abu Dhabi project requirements. Accurate survey work will help protect existing services, reduce construction errors, and support timely project progress.

Core Duties

• Perform land surveys, field surveys, measurements, and geodetic calculations for infrastructure and stormwater construction works.
• Check setting‑out, levels, coordinates, control points, and benchmarks to confirm alignment with approved drawings and project requirements.
• Interface with the client, contractors, engineers, and supervision teams to determine and verify survey requirements.
• Support survey activities for stormwater networks, roads, utilities, drainage structures, and related infrastructure works.
• Complete assigned survey tasks within approved schedule, man‑hour, and cost requirements.
• Verify service locations and help ensure existing utilities are identified and protected during construction.
• Prepare field sketches, survey notes, calculations, and supporting records for site verification and documentation.
• Maintain accurate survey information including field books, sketches, control data, benchmark checks, and calculation records.
• Measure completed work quantities when required by the construction supervision team.
• Record initial and final levels of works to support progress verification and project records.
• Assist in preparing as‑built drawings and review as‑built record drawings for accuracy and completeness.
• Review drawings, maps, plats, specifications, and technical documents related to survey activities.
• Use survey terminology and descriptive materials correctly when preparing records, sketches, and field reports.
• Participate positively in health and safety matters on site as required by the Resident Engineer and project Safety Representative.
• Coordinate clearly with site teams and management to report survey findings, discrepancies, and required follow‑up actions.

Ideal Profile

• Diploma or Associate Degree in Land Surveying or an equivalent discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in infrastructure, roads, and utilities projects.
• Recent UAE work experience is required, especially on Abu Dhabi projects.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of CAD software, survey software, Total Station, data collectors, and GPS equipment.
• Working knowledge of construction sequences and standard industry work procedures is preferred.
• ADM or DMT experience is preferred.
• Relevant Abu Dhabi survey approvals or license are an advantage.
• Good understanding of field survey methods, control points, benchmarks, setting‑out, level checks, and as‑built records.
• Able to read and understand maps, drawings, specifications, survey terminology, and technical project documents.
• Good written and spoken English communication skills.
• Able to communicate clearly with contractors, engineers, site teams, and management.
