Job summary

Fairmont The Palm in Dubai is seeking a Learning & Development leader to identify training needs and develop cost‑effective initiatives aligned with hotel goals. You will monitor policy application in coordination with department leaders and ensure consistent delivery of high‑level training across Heartists.

The role focuses on shaping onboarding, annual training planning, budget management, and partnerships with universities and providers to enhance guest service and staff growth.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in Learning & Development within hospitality.
• Knowledge of luxury hotel standards.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to train and develop team members.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and take initiative.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Strong presentation and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with management to implement department orientation and onboarding training.
• Oversee on‑going training initiatives and record progress.
• Coordinate and conduct new hire orientation to reinforce guest service culture.
• Ensure attendance of new hires and leadership participation in training.
• Develop an annual Training Plan aligned with hotel goals.
• Liaise with Department Heads on training needs and attendance at courses.
• Manage training budget with Director of T&C support.
• Identify training needs from guest feedback and surveys.
• Publish annual and quarterly training calendars and ensure attendance.
• Develop, source and conduct training courses from the calendar.
• Advise managers and Heartists on training opportunities and qualifications.
• Establish links with universities, training providers and other partners.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records of all training activities.
• Respond to ambassador training requests promptly and follow up.
