Amazon is hiring an experienced benefits professional to coordinate multi-country health, financial, retirement, and time-away programs while ensuring regulatory compliance, cost control, and a consistent employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and delivery of employee benefit programs for global expansions and merger and acquisition initiatives.
- Align benefit recommendations with Amazon's Global Benefits Framework, local market practices, business requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Gather market data and stakeholder input to support benefit strategy and program-design decisions.
- Contribute to written benefit proposals, cost analyses, implementation recommendations, and executive review materials.
- Assess health, welfare, financial, retirement, insurance, workers compensation, and time-away benefit requirements.
- Help evaluate whether existing Amazon programs can be extended to newly established or acquired entities.
- Develop project plans, timelines, dependencies, risk registers, and implementation trackers for benefit launches.
- Coordinate provider selection, contracting, onboarding, system setup, employee communications, and plan activation.
- Support the creation and documentation of benefit policies, procedures, eligibility rules, and administrative workflows.
- Work with payroll and systems teams to establish accurate deductions, contributions, taxable benefit treatment, and data interfaces.
- Monitor implementation progress through the stabilization period and resolve operational issues before transition.
- Transfer completed programs and documentation to regional benefits and plan-administration teams.
- Support benefits integration activities for acquisitions in countries where Amazon already operates established programs.
- Compare acquired company benefits with Amazon standards and identify gaps, risks, duplication, and transition requirements.
- Coordinate employee mapping, eligibility validation, provider migration, and benefit harmonization activities.
- Ensure programs comply with applicable employment, insurance, tax, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor benefit costs, future funding needs, financial exposure, competitiveness, and service quality.
- Maintain governance records covering approvals, decisions, legal reviews, implementation status, and policy documentation.
- Manage relationships with insurers, consultants, brokers, administrators, and other external service providers.
- Review vendor performance, service levels, costs, operational issues, and corrective-action plans.
- Support commercial negotiations and confirm that providers deliver agreed service standards.
- Coordinate regularly with HR leaders, talent acquisition, payroll, finance, operations, compliance, and project teams.
- Prepare progress reports, status updates, risk summaries, and implementation documentation for stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve program efficiency, employee experience, and administrative consistency.
- Measure customer satisfaction and recommend changes based on employee, stakeholder, and operational feedback.
- Manage multiple expansion and acquisition workstreams independently while maintaining deadlines and attention to detail.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of professional experience in employee benefits.
- Experience developing and delivering employee benefit programs across multiple countries.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects from initial planning through implementation and stabilization.
- Strong understanding of healthcare, insurance, financial protection, retirement, and time-away programs.
- Experience supporting benefit design, market benchmarking, cost analysis, and implementation planning.
- Knowledge of employee benefit administration, payroll processes, taxation, and local regulatory requirements.
- Experience working on international expansions, entity launches, or merger and acquisition integrations is highly advantageous.
- Strong vendor-management experience and ability to build effective external partnerships.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Ability to work confidently with stakeholders at different organizational levels.
- Strong analytical capability, accuracy, and attention to financial and administrative detail.
- Ability to prepare clear proposals, project documentation, policies, and stakeholder updates.
- Strong customer-service orientation and commitment to a positive employee benefits experience.
- Proven ownership of projects, deliverables, and creative work from concept through completion.
- Ability to manage several complex workstreams within changing timelines.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Experience improving program efficiency and measuring customer satisfaction is advantageous.
