Job summary

Wasael Property Management is seeking a Materials Engineer to oversee construction materials for municipal infrastructure projects. You will review submittals, ensure compliance with standards and codes, and coordinate laboratory testing and field sampling to support durable, safe infrastructure.

The role requires collaboration with project teams, contractors, and laboratories, with a focus on quality assurance, material performance assessment, and value engineering across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/materials/construction engineering or related discipline.
• Professional certifications (PE or equivalent) preferred.
• Experience with municipal infrastructure projects and material testing/reporting.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve material submittals for roads, pavements, stormwater, utilities, and related projects.
• Ensure materials comply with municipal standards, project specs, international codes and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct inspections of construction materials during procurement, delivery, and installation.
• Verify QA/QC processes implemented by contractors and suppliers.
• Coordinate testing programs and field sampling activities; validate testing methodologies.
