Job summary

Wasael Property Management seeks a Principal Materials Engineer to lead the materials engineering function across municipal transportation infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi and the UAE. You will provide expert guidance on pavement, geotechnical, concrete and drainage materials, and ensure QA/QC and regulatory compliance throughout planning, design, and delivery.

The role requires 12–15 years in materials engineering with leadership experience, and relevant professional certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Materials Engineering.
• 12–15 years in materials engineering, with leadership experience.
• Experience with municipal roads, highways, and storm water projects.
• PE/CEng or equivalent certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of materials engineering policies, standards, specifications and procedures.
• Act as SME for pavement materials, geotechnical materials, concrete, asphalt, aggregates, soil stabilization and drainage materials.
• Provide guidance on material selection, life-cycle performance, sustainability and resilience.
• Review and approve material specifications, design mixes and compliance documentation.
• Oversee QA/QC frameworks, lab testing, and audits of contractors and suppliers.
• Support project planning, design, procurement, construction and asset handover.
• Promote sustainable materials and lifecycle performance in asset management.
