Job summary

AECOM, a global infrastructure firm, seeks a Senior Engineer - Material to lead material engineering and QA/QC on major infrastructure projects in Al Ain, UAE. You will manage submittals, test programs, and compliance with contract requirements and international standards.

Lead labs, supply chain coordination, and regulatory liaison while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring material excellence across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or equivalent engineering discipline.
• Postgraduate qualification in Materials Engineering or Construction Management (preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in material engineering and quality management on major infrastructure projects.
• At least 5 years in a senior-level position such as Senior Material Engineer or Material Manager.
• Proven expertise in infrastructure projects including roads, asphalt, concrete, utilities, drainage, sewerage, potable water, irrigation, electrical and public works.

Responsibilities

• Lead the review, analysis, and approval of material submittals, manufacturers' data, technical specs, and compliance certificates.
• Ensure materials comply with contract requirements, project specs, UAE standards, and international codes.
• Evaluate alternative material proposals and provide technical recommendations.
• Oversee laboratory and field testing programs to verify material compliance and QA.
• Review test reports, mix designs, trial results, and quality certifications.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, labs, suppliers, and authorities on material matters.
• Mentor Material Engineers and Material Inspectors.
