Job summary

Amazon in Dubai, United Arab Emirates seeks a Human Rights Compliance Manager to lead due diligence, remediation, and investigations across AMET. You will own complex human rights cases from intake through closure, coordinating with legal, HR, sourcing and sustainability teams.

Qualifications

  • Professional experience in human rights compliance, social compliance, responsible sourcing, investigations, remediation, ESG, or related risk management.

  • Experience managing compliance cases, supplier investigations, grievances, or audit-related remediation is highly relevant.
  • Able to assess allegations objectively and determine appropriate investigative and corrective actions.
  • Practical experience working directly with suppliers, contractors, or service providers on compliance improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of human rights and environmental compliance cases from initial intake through resolution and verification.
  • Serve as the primary case owner for matters meeting Human Rights and Social Impact escalation criteria.
  • Review audit findings, worker grievances, external allegations, supplier escalations, and other non-audit information sources.
  • Assess the severity and credibility of reported impacts and determine appropriate investigation and remediation pathways.
  • Coordinate investigations into alleged human rights or environmental violations where additional evidence is required.
  • Make case-level decisions on investigation approach, corrective actions, and remediation plans within established frameworks.
  • Work directly with suppliers and service providers to address identified compliance failures.
  • Develop corrective actions that resolve immediate concerns while introducing preventive measures against recurrence.
  • Identify underlying causes of supplier or operational compliance failures and ensure remediation addresses those causes.
  • Gather and verify evidence demonstrating that audit findings, escalations, and agreed corrective actions have been resolved.
  • Conduct site visits when required to evaluate conditions, provide guidance, and validate remediation effectiveness.
  • Track cases against applicable SLA requirements while maintaining investigation and documentation quality.
  • Maintain comprehensive case records including decisions, supporting evidence, remediation actions, and closure rationale.

Role Context

The Human Rights Compliance Manager will serve as the case-level Single Threaded Leader within Amazon 's Global Remediation and Investigation Team, taking ownership of significant human rights and environmental impact cases across the AMET region. The role covers the full impact-management lifecycle, including assessment, investigation, corrective action planning, root cause remediation, evidence verification, stakeholder coordination, and final case closure. Strong judgment is essential because individual cases may involve suppliers, service providers, workers, legal teams, sourcing organizations, communications teams, and other business stakeholders with different priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Legal, Public Relations, Human Resources, sourcing, sustainability, and business teams on complex remediation matters.
  • Navigate competing stakeholder priorities while maintaining focus on effective remedy and responsible business standards.
  • Support stakeholder communications and coordinated responses related to significant human rights cases.
  • Provide knowledge transfer, case shadowing, and informal coaching to less experienced specialists where required.
Ideal Profile
