Role Context

The Housekeeping Supervisor provides the operational control needed to keep guest and service areas consistently ready throughout the day. Through detailed inspections, employee guidance and coordination with Front Office, Engineering and Security, the role resolves discrepancies before they affect guest comfort or hotel operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect assigned housekeeping areas every day for cleanliness, condition and presentation.
• Complete daily checklists and verify that employees finish assigned duties.
• Confirm that rooms and guest areas for priority arrivals are prepared to the required standard.
• Conduct daily employee grooming inspections.
• Lead shift briefings for Attendants and Team Leaders.
• Provide practical on-the-job training to improve housekeeping performance.
• Supervise the work of Housekeeping Area Attendants and Team Leaders.
• Monitor productivity and correct incomplete or below-standard work.
• Inspect cleaning equipment and machinery for safe operating condition.
• Ensure housekeeping tools and machines are properly maintained and stored.
• Raise job orders and coordinate repair requirements with Engineering.
• Follow up on incomplete maintenance work until appropriate action is completed.
• Attend daily departmental briefings with housekeeping management.
• Prepare room-discrepancy reports for Front Office.
• Manage complete handovers between outgoing and incoming shifts.
• Report lost-and-found items according to hotel procedures.
• Inform the Housekeeper and Security immediately about suspicious persons or unusual situations.
• Escalate concerns involving sick or distressed guests for prompt assistance.
• Handle guest service requirements within the assigned station.
• Maintain constructive employee relations and encourage cooperation within the team.
• Water and replace flowers according to the established schedule.
• Protect the cleanliness, hygiene and condition of housekeeping and service areas.
• Remain informed about daily hotel activities, service priorities and guest requirements.
• Maintain accurate knowledge of hotel facilities to assist guests and colleagues.
• Follow professional grooming standards and demonstrate respectful interdepartmental conduct.

Ideal Profile

Candidates should hold a university degree in any field and have at least two years of experience in a comparable housekeeping supervisory position within a 5-star hotel. Practical knowledge of area inspection, employee supervision and maintenance coordination is required. The preferred applicant will demonstrate close attention to detail, confident team leadership and the ability to handle guest-service matters professionally. Strong communication and organized shift-management skills are essential.
