The General Technician supports the profitability and service reputation of the Body and Paint department by completing repairs accurately and reducing avoidable rework. The position requires close attention to repair manuals, job instructions, finish quality, safety controls, and completion deadlines. Key Responsibilities

• Complete assigned mechanical, body, and paint repair work according to approved procedures, technical specifications, and job-time standards.


• Assess damaged vehicle areas and carry out repairs in line with the applicable vehicle repair manual.


• Prepare body panels and surfaces for refinishing, including cleaning, sanding, filling, masking, and priming.


• Perform spray painting and color mixing while maintaining consistency with the vehicle 's original finish.


• Inspect completed repairs for surface quality, color accuracy, alignment, and overall workmanship.


• Request approval for supplementary parts, materials, or labour when additional damage is identified during repair work.


• Follow job instructions carefully and complete assigned tasks within the required delivery schedule.


• Plan work effectively when handling several vehicles or repair orders at the same time.


• Conduct quality checks throughout the repair process to prevent defects and minimize repeat jobs.


• Take corrective action immediately when repair quality does not meet the required standard.


• Comply fully with the ALAC Quality Management System and participate in workshop improvement activities.

• Report equipment faults, unsafe conditions, process abnormalities, or incidents to the Team Leader without delay.


• Initiate incident reports when an operational or safety concern requires formal documentation.


• Park vehicles affected by job stoppages in the designated area and update the responsible supervisor.


• Attend technical training provided by the company and apply newly learned repair methods in daily work.


• Stay informed about new vehicle technologies, refinishing materials, repair procedures, and workshop equipment.


• Follow company rules, reporting lines, attendance requirements, and operational discipline at all times.


• Carry out additional workshop duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
