Job summary

Arcadia British School in Dubai seeks a General Systems Engineer to join the IT team to support administrative IT functions and school-wide systems. You will act as an ambassador, improving systems, and ensuring safe, reliable IT resources for pupils and staff.

The role involves hands-on Mac/iOS and Windows support, AV and signage management, and collaboration on school apps and access control. Candidates should have 3+ years in a similar role and a IT bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a general IT/systems role.
• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field.
• Strong written and spoken English communication.
• Good coordination and planning abilities; customer-service oriented.

Responsibilities

• Represent Arcadia in IT-related tasks and events.
• Provide support for iSams SIS and Jamf MDM.
• Support Google Suite and create user accounts for new staff.
• Assist with school apps (Learning ladders, Seesaw, GL assessment, library system, active learners, Renaissance).
• Provide end-user Mac/iOS, and printer support for staff and admin.
• Set up staff and student devices using Jamf and Apple School Manager.
• Configure Access cards via iSecure for parents, visitors, and staff.
• Deploy IT solutions and respond to service issues promptly.
• Monitor and maintain computer networks and AV systems; support lessons/meetings.

General Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated General Systems Engineer to join our IT team to support the school community with administrative functions of the IT systems. Act as an ambassador for the school and perform all job duties in an efficient, professional, and confidential manner. Take initiative to improve systems and processes to aid in efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure that the resources are maintained in a safe condition for the pupils and school staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent Arcadia
• Providing support for iSams School Information System(SIS).
• Providing support for Jamf Mobile Device Management(MDM).
• Providing support for google suite, setting up accounts for new users using G-Suite and user support.
• Providing support for school applications like Learning ladders, Seesaw, GL assessment, Library management system, active learners and Renaissance.
• Providing end-user Mac and iOS support for admin, academic staff and staff.
• Providing end-user printer support for both admin and academic staff.
• Setting up new school iOS devices for staff and students using Jamf and Apple school manager.
• Setting up new school Mac devices for the staff.
• Creating Access cards for parents, providers, visitors, and staff and providing access thru iSecure system.
• Deploying the appropriate IT solutions to solve problems
• Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
• Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
• Providing technical support across the school(Including in-person & Remote support)
• Identifying user needs with technology
• Performing regular IT maintenance and system back ups. .
• Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot the school’s audio-visual (AV) systems, including projectors, interactive displays, sound systems, microphones, and video conferencing equipment, ensuring reliable operation and providing technical support for lessons, meetings, and school events.
• Manage the school’s digital signage using the TrilbyTV application, including uploading and scheduling content, monitoring displays, and troubleshooting issues to ensure timely and accurate communication.

Skills and Competencies

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role

• Apple certified.
