POWERCHINA JEPCC in Dubai seeks experienced Electrical Primary Design Engineer with hands-on experience in 132kV-400kV AIS/GIS substations. The role focuses on primary design and detailed engineering for HV/EHV projects across the Middle East & Africa.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Electrical/Power Engineering and at least 5 years of HV/MV/EHV substation design, AIS/GIS layouts, and proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with IEC/IEEE standards and coordination with multi-discipline teams

UAE/GCC EXPERIENCE HIGHLY PREFERRED

We are seeking experienced Electrical Primary Design Engineers with strong hands-on expertise in 132kV / 220kV / 400kV AIS/GIS Substation Design and Detailed Engineering.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform primary electrical design and detailed engineering for HV/EHV AIS/GIS substations.
• Prepare SLDs, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, equipment layouts, busbar arrangements and electrical clearance calculations.
• Perform earthing/grounding, lightning protection and cable sizing calculations.
• Design auxiliary AC/DC systems, battery banks, UPS systems and auxiliary transformer arrangements.
• Prepare HV cable engineering designs (10kV-230kV), including cable selection, sizing, grounding and cross-bonding.
• Select HV equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, CTs, VTs, disconnectors and surge arresters.
• Prepare technical specifications, equipment datasheets, BOQs/MTOs and review vendor drawings.
• Coordinate with secondary electrical, SCADA, telecom and civil design teams.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Power Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on HV/MV/EHV Substation Primary Design experience.
• Strong experience in AIS/GIS substation layouts, electrical calculations and detailed engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards.
• Ability to independently prepare primary electrical engineering deliverables.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Independent preparation of SLDs, GA drawings, equipment layouts and busbar arrangements.
• Earthing, lightning protection, electrical clearance and cable sizing calculations.
• Auxiliary AC/DC systems, battery banks, UPS and HV equipment selection.
• HV cable design (10kV-230kV), grounding and cross-bonding.
• AutoCAD proficiency; ETAP, CYMCAP and CYMGRD knowledge preferred.
• IEC/IEEE standards and EPC detailed engineering experience.
• DEWA, TAQA/TRANSCO, SEWA, Solar PV/BESS experience is an advantage.
