POWERCHINA Jiangxi Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. in Dubai seeks an experienced Electrical Primary Design Engineer to join our Engineering & Design Center.

You will focus on HV/EHV AIS/GIS substation primary design and detailed engineering for international EPC projects across the Middle East and Africa. Responsibilities include preparing SLDs, GA drawings, equipment layouts, cable routing and grounding, equipment selection, specs, BOQs and interfaces with protection, SCADA and civil

Qualificações

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on HV/MV/EHV Substation Primary Electrical Design experience.
• Experience in AIS/GIS Substation Primary Design and Detailed Engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and ETAP or equivalent software.
• Good command of English and knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards.

Responsabilidades

• Perform primary electrical design and detailed engineering for HV/EHV AIS/GIS substations.
• Prepare Single Line Diagrams, General Arrangement Drawings, equipment layouts and busbar arrangements.
• Develop cable routing, earthing/grounding and lightning protection designs.
• Perform electrical clearance checks, grounding and lightning protection calculations.
• Select and specify HV equipment including transformers, circuit breakers and surge arresters.
• Prepare technical specifications, equipment datasheets, BOQs/MTOs and engineering documentation.
• Review vendor drawings and technical submissions.
• Coordinate design interfaces with Protection & Control, SCADA, Telecom and Civil teams.
• Provide engineering support during construction, testing and commissioning.

About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Primary Design Engineer to join our Dubai-based Engineering & Design Center.

This role focuses on HV/EHV AIS/GIS Substation Primary Design and Detailed Engineering, supporting international EPC power infrastructure projects across the Middle East and Africa.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform primary electrical design and detailed engineering for HV/EHV AIS/GIS substations.
• Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), General Arrangement Drawings (GAs), equipment layouts, sections, elevations and busbar arrangements.
• Develop cable routing, earthing/grounding and lightning protection designs.
• Perform electrical clearance checks, grounding calculations and lightning protection calculations.
• Select and specify HV equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, CTs, VTs/PTs and surge arresters.
• Prepare technical specifications, equipment datasheets, BOQs/MTOs and engineering documentation.
• Review vendor drawings and technical submissions.
• Coordinate design interfaces with Protection & Control, SCADA, Telecom and Civil Engineering teams.
• Provide engineering support during construction, testing and commissioning.

Mandatory Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on HV/MV/EHV Substation Primary Electrical Design experience.
• Proven experience in AIS/GIS Substation Primary Design and Detailed Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of equipment layouts, SLDs, electrical clearances, earthing and lightning protection.
• Practical experience in HV equipment selection and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with ETAP or equivalent engineering software.
• Good understanding of IEC/IEEE standards.
• Good command of English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in 132kV, 220kV and 400kV substations.
• UAE/GCC substation EPC design experience.
• Experience with DEWA, TAQA/TRANSCO, EtihadWE, SEWA or other GCC utilities.
• Candidates currently based in the UAE are preferred.
