Job summary

Simone's Tutoring is seeking a qualified Dyslexia Specialist to provide evidence-based assessment and targeted intervention for students with dyslexia and reading difficulties. You will use structured literacy approaches to support students in developing reading, spelling, and written expression skills.

This freelance role offers flexible scheduling, home- and online-based sessions in Dubai, with a 60% commission on completed lessons, and ongoing opportunities to build a private practice within

Qualifications

• Qualified in dyslexia teaching with recognized qualifications (e.g. ATS, AMBDA, CELTA-LD or equivalent).
• Experience delivering structured literacy/phonics-based instruction.
• Ability to assess and monitor dyslexia using standardised tools.
• Experience advising families and schools on accommodations and strategies.

Role Overview

We are looking for a qualified Dyslexia Specialist to provide evidence-based assessment and targeted intervention for students with dyslexia and reading difficulties. You will use structured literacy approaches to support students in developing reading, spelling, and written expression skills.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct specialist dyslexia and literacy assessments

Design and deliver structured literacy intervention programmes

Implement approaches such as Orton-Gillingham, Read Write Inc., or similar

Advise families and schools on dyslexia accommodations and strategies

Support students with exam access arrangements and reasonable adjustments

Monitor literacy progress using standardised assessments

Write professional dyslexia assessment and intervention reports

Minimum Qualifications

Recognised dyslexia teaching qualification (e.g. ATS, AMBDA, CELTA-LD, or equivalent)

MOHRE Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain

Minimum 2 years specialist dyslexia teaching experience

Training in structured literacy or phonics-based approaches

Preferred Qualifications

Orton-Gillingham training or certification

Experience with IGCSE/IB exam access arrangements

Knowledge of bilingual or multilingual dyslexia

UAE Licensing Requirements

Tutors and educational specialists operating in the UAE are required to hold a valid MOHRE Tutor Permit or equivalent work authorisation. Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, the relevant permit before providing in-person services. Please ensure compliance with UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation regulations.

Commission is calculated after the student's payment has been successfully received by Simone's Tutoring.
Payments are processed monthly.

Additional earning opportunities may be available through intensive intervention programmes, literacy workshops, holiday camps, school partnerships, and small group classes.
