Job summary

Simone's Tutoring in Dubai is seeking a Reading Intervention Specialist to deliver intensive, evidence-based reading support for students struggling to read at age-expected levels. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or Literacy
• MOHRE Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain
• Minimum 2 years reading intervention experience
• Training in systematic phonics or structured literacy approaches
• Preferred: Reading Recovery trained
• Preferred: RAVE-O, Wilson Reading, or Orton-Gillingham experience
• Experience with EAL/ESL learners

Responsibilities

• Conduct standardised reading assessments to identify reading levels and gaps
• Deliver intensive 1:1 and small-group reading intervention programmes
• Implement structured phonics, decoding, and fluency instruction
• Monitor reading progress using data-driven assessment tools
• Adjust instruction based on RTI

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

Conduct standardised reading assessments to identify reading levels and gaps

Deliver intensive 1:1 and small-group reading intervention programmes

Implement structured phonics, decoding, and fluency instruction

Monitor reading progress using data-driven assessment tools

Adjust instruction based on individual student response to intervention (RTI)

Coach parents on home reading strategies and book selection

Liaise with class teachers and SEN coordinators on intervention outcomes

UAE Licensing Requirements

Tutors and educational specialists operating in the UAE are required to hold a valid MOHRE Tutor Permit or equivalent work authorisation. Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, the relevant permit before providing in-person services. Please ensure compliance with UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation regulations.

Compensation
Earn 60% commission on all checked-in, completed, and fully paid literacy, reading, writing, phonics, handwriting, and intervention lessons and programmes.
Commission is calculated after the student's payment has been successfully received by Simone's Tutoring.
Payments are processed monthly.
This is an independent contractor position.
Additional earning opportunities may be available through intensive intervention programmes, literacy workshops, holiday camps, school partnerships, and small group classes.
