Job summary

GEMS Royal Dubai School in Dubai is seeking a dynamic Art & Design Technician to join our vibrant secondary team, with a January 2027 start. You will support practical learning, prepare materials and equipment, and help develop our Art & Design & Technology provision, driving the #RoyalStandard.

Assist teachers, maintain labs, organise resources and create displays, while upholding school policies and standards in a premium British-curriculum environment.

Qualifications

• Dynamic, creative and organised individual capable of supporting practical learning.
• Ability to prepare labs, rooms, resources and equipment as directed by teachers.
• Willingness to assist with DT/ART/Food activities and develop familiarity with the curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in their work as directed and support regular classroom tasks.
• Prepare labs and materials, organise stock and resources for lessons.
• Create work displays and aid with preparation of displays.
• Maintain orderly workspaces and ensure readiness for the next lesson.
• Run small group activities inside or outside the classroom as directed by the teacher.
• Ensure policies and codes of conduct are followed.

Job Purpose:

Assist teachers in their work as directed. A Technician will be asked to assist with a range of tasks on a regular basis

Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Assist the teacher with DT/ART/Food related activities.
• Develop familiarity with relevant aspects of the curriculum.
• Maintain orderly workspaces ensuring readiness for the next lesson
• Run small group activities inside or outside the classroom as directed by the teacher.
• Organise stock and resources.
• Create work displays and assist with preparation of displays
• Ensure the GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are always followed.
• Initiate effort and energy beyond the typical workday, where the tasks require additional commitment.
