Job summary

ALEC Data Centre Solutions in the UAE seeks a Commissioning Engineer to lead commissioning activities for mechanical, electrical, and BMS systems on landmark projects. Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, you will develop strategies, run tests, and ensure adherence to codes and client specs.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate equipment delivery and start-up, prepare test reports and punch lists, and collaborate with design engineers and OEMs to drive on-schedule project success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in MEP commissioning and testing.
• Proven expertise in functional performance testing and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read technical drawings and develop test procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare commissioning strategies, planning, and testing scripts aligned with project specifications and codes.
• Conduct inspections, pre-functional checks, and functional performance tests for mechanical, electrical, BMS, and specialist systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in collaboration with design and OEM teams.
• Coordinate equipment delivery, installation, and start-up to meet project schedules.
• Compile and submit commissioning documentation, including test reports and punch lists, for client and consultant review.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians, promoting best practices and technical excellence.

About Your Team

Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, you’ll lead a team of Commissioning Foremen and collaborate with design engineers, QA/QC teams, and OEM representatives to achieve project success.

Your Role

As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing commissioning strategies, planning, and testing scripts aligned with project specifications and codes.


• Conducting inspections, pre-functional checks, and functional performance tests for mechanical, electrical, BMS, and specialist systems.


• Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in collaboration with design and OEM teams.


• Coordinating equipment delivery, installation, and start-up to meet project schedules.


• Compiling and submitting commissioning documentation, including test reports and punch lists, for client and consultant review.


• Mentoring junior engineers and technicians, promoting best practices and technical excellence.

This is a full-time role requiring attention to detail, coordination, and a proactive approach to commissioning activities.

What We’re Looking For

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in MEP commissioning and testing processes.


• Proven expertise in functional performance testing and troubleshooting.

Knowledge

• Working knowledge of MEP systems, commissioning methods, and regional codes.


• Ability to read technical drawings and develop test procedures.

Skills

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and project management tools (Primavera/MS Project preferred).


• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering disciplines.
