Job summary

ALEC Technologies is seeking a Junior BIM Modeler to develop, coordinate, and maintain BIM models for ELV systems across UAE projects. You will work with BIM Coordinators, project engineers, and site teams to ensure models meet project standards and develop detailed ELV drawings.

The role emphasizes Revit-based modelling, coordination across disciplines, and mentoring junior modelers while contributing to iconic UAE developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Minimum 2+ years of BIM/Revit modelling experience in ELV or technology projects.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
• Understanding of ELV systems and related technologies.
• Knowledge of BIM standards, LOD (100–500), and multidisciplinary coordination workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed BIM models for ELV systems (cabling, AV, CCTV, Access Control, PAVA, BMS).
• Create 3D Revit models from markups or redlined drawings.
• Produce coordinated ELV routing layouts and installation details.
• Prepare coordinated ELV shop drawings and builder's work drawings.
• Coordinate with BIM Coordinators and site teams to align models with site conditions.
• Lead modelling efforts for assigned zones or systems.
• Train and mentor junior modelers on BIM standards.

As a Junior BIM Modeler, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining high-quality BIM models and construction documentation for a wide range of ELV systems. Working closely with BIM Coordinators, project engineers, and site teams, you'll contribute to the successful delivery of complex projects by ensuring models meet project specifications, BIM standards, Level of Development (LOD) requirements, and multidisciplinary coordination objectives.

Your Role

Your Role

• Develop and maintain detailed BIM models for ELV systems, including but not limited to structured cabling, AV, CCTV, Access Control, PAVA, SMATV/IPTV, Intercom, GRMS, BMS etc.
• Create 3D models in Revit based on markups or redlined drawings.
• Produce coordinated ELV routing layouts including cable trays, conduits, trunking, containment and equipment installation details.
• Prepare coordinated ELV shop drawings, builder's work drawings, installation details, sleeve layouts and composite services drawings.
• Organize and maintain drawing sheets in accordance with project standards.
• Support BIM Coordinator in exporting model views and basic clash checks.
• Implement drawing revisions, RFIs, and consultant feedback into models.
• Ensure consistent family usage, naming conventions, and model cleanliness.
• Produce coordinated shop drawings and detailing views.
• Communicate with site engineers to align models with actual site conditions.
• Lead modelling efforts for assigned zones or systems.
• Prepare parametric components (families) and custom model elements.
• Work with BIM Coordinator to flag and resolve design clashes.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to integrate vendor-specific model content.
• Train and mentor junior modelers on modelling standards and efficiency.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties or responsibilities as required by your manager, commensurate with the role and aligned with the needs of the business.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's degree, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2+ years of BIM/Revit modelling experience within ELV or technology systems projects.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
• Good understanding of ELV systems, including structured cabling, CCTV, Access Control, AV, PAVA, BMS, SMATV/IPTV, GRMS, and related technologies.
• Knowledge of BIM standards, Level of Development (LOD 100–500), and multidisciplinary BIM coordination workflows.
• Experience producing coordinated shop drawings, installation drawings, and construction documentation.
• Strong understanding of model management, file hygiene, naming conventions, and BIM data quality.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Navisworks or Revizto for clash detection and model coordination.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / BIM 360 Docs.
• Knowledge of Dynamo, Civil 3D, or BIM automation workflows.
• Understanding of ISO 19650, BS1192, and Common Data Environment (CDE) standards.
• Experience working on large-scale commercial, hospitality, healthcare, airport, or data centre projects.
