Job summary

Le Méridien in the UAE seeks an experienced kitchen supervisor to oversee cooks and kitchen staff, ensuring presentation, portions, and garnish meet standards. The role includes training, scheduling, and maintaining food safety records to support quality service.

You will coordinate with service staff on specials, out-of-stock items, and inventory while upholding cleanliness and professional appearance. A strong leadership mindset is essential to motivate the team.

Qualifications

• Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
• Related Work Experience: 4 to 6 years of related work experience.
• Supervisory Experience: At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• License or Certification: None

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers.
• Determine how food should be presented and create decorative food displays.
• Monitor the quantity of food that is prepared.
• Inform staff of menu specials and out of stock items.
• Assist cooks and kitchen staff with tasks and provide needed items.
• Maintain kitchen logs for food safety program and food products.
• Ensure quality of food items and notify manager if a product does not meet specifications.
• Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating staff.
• Follow safety policies and report hazards to manager and ensure compliance.
• Maintain uniform and professional appearance and protect company assets.
