Qualifications

  • Eligible UAE National; UAE nationality required.
  • Advises Executive Board on governance, UAE law and regulatory requirements; support policy development.
  • Plans and coordinates Board calendars, agendas, papers and meetings; ensures decisions are documented.
  • Drafts precise Board minutes, resolutions and formal correspondence in English and Arabic (الفصحى).
  • Monitors statutory obligations, filings and governance reporting; liaises with ministries and regulators.
  • Strong Arabic drafting proficiency and English; knowledge of UAE corporate governance; handles confidential information.
  • Advanced governance qualification (CGI/ICSA or IoD) preferred.

Job description

Emirates Investment Authority (EIA) is seeking an accomplished Corporate Secretary to support the effective operation of its Board and committees and strengthen governance across the organisation.

This is a high-trust role for a UAE National who combines sound governance judgement with exceptional bilingual drafting capability and the discretion required for sensitive Board matters.

Eligibility: Only UAE Nationals will be considered for this position.

Advise the Executive Board Committee and senior management on corporate governance, UAE legal and regulatory requirements and relevant international standards; support policy development and governance capability-building.

Plan and coordinate Board and committee calendars, agendas, papers and meetings, and ensure decisions and actions are documented and followed through.

Draft precise Board minutes, resolutions, memoranda, policies and formal correspondence in English and Classical/Modern Standard Arabic (الفصحى).

Monitor statutory obligations, filings, governance reporting and secure Board records, and liaise effectively with ministries, regulators, judicial bodies and external advisers.

What you bring UAE Nationality.

A bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration or a related discipline.

At least eight years of relevant experience across corporate secretarial, governance or compliance work, including direct experience serving as a Corporate Secretary or Board Secretary within a sovereign wealth fund, listed company, investment company or financial institution.

Exceptional written Classical/Modern Standard Arabic (الفصحى) drafting proficiency and strong professional English, demonstrated through Board minutes, resolutions, legal or governance documents, translation and formal government correspondence.

Strong knowledge of UAE corporate and governance requirements, together with an understanding of international governance principles.

A record of managing complex Board processes, senior stakeholders, competing deadlines and highly confidential information with accuracy and sound judgement.

Proficiency with board-management or governance platforms and Microsoft Office.

Preferred An advanced governance qualification from the Chartered Governance Institute (CGI/ICSA), the Institute of Directors (IoD), or an equivalent professional body.
