Stafmed is currently recruiting a highly experienced Consultant Palliative Medicine for an exciting full-time position with a leading hospital in the UAE.
About the Role
We are seeking a distinguished Consultant Palliative Medicine with extensive expertise in managing patients with serious, complex, and life-limiting illnesses. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive palliative care focused on symptom management, quality of life, psychosocial support, and individualized patient‑centred care.

Responsibilities
- Assess and manage patients with advanced, progressive, and life-limiting illnesses
- Provide comprehensive symptom management, including complex pain and non-pain symptoms
- Develop individualized palliative care plans based on clinical assessment, patient needs, and goals of care
- Manage complex symptoms including pain, breathlessness, nausea, fatigue, delirium, and psychological distress
- Support patients and families through advanced illness, end‑of‑life care, and bereavement
- Lead discussions regarding goals of care, advance care planning, and treatment preferences
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including oncology, internal medicine, surgery, intensive care, nursing, and allied health professionals
- Provide specialist palliative care consultations across inpatient, outpatient, and other appropriate care settings
- Support patients requiring complex end‑of‑life and symptom management
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
- Contribute to the development and implementation of palliative care pathways, protocols, and clinical standards
- Support medical education, training, and professional development within the department
Qualifications
- Board certification in Palliative Medicine or equivalent recognised qualification
- Recognised Tier 1 qualification, including ABMS, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST, European Board, or equivalent recognised qualification
- Minimum 3–5 years of post‑specialisation experience in Palliative Care
- Eligibility for Consultant‑level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP

- Extensive experience in managing patients with complex and life‑limiting illnesses
- Expertise in advanced symptom and pain management
- Strong knowledge of end‑of‑life care and advance care planning
- Experience in multidisciplinary palliative care and complex clinical decision‑making
