Job summary

Allocation Assist in Al Ain seeks a Consultant Gastroenterologist fluent in Arabic to diagnose and manage a wide range of GI, liver, pancreatic, and digestive disorders while delivering patient-centered care in line with international clinical standards.

The successful candidate will perform endoscopic procedures, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and educate patients, adhering to DOH requirements and local regulations.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by DOH Abu Dhabi or equivalent.
• Board Certification / Fellowship in Gastroenterology.
• DOH Consultant License or Eligibility Letter in Gastroenterology.
• Minimum 5–7 years of post-board consultant experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat gastro-intestinal disorders including GERD, IBS, IBD, liver diseases, pancreatitis and GI bleeding.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures such as upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy.
• Manage both inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology cases.
• Develop individualized treatment and long-term follow-up plans for patients.
• Collaborate with surgeons, radiologists, dietitians, oncologists and multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide culturally sensitive communication to Arabic-speaking patients and families.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with DOH regulations and hospital policies.
• Participate in clinical audits, CME activities, and departmental meetings.
• Educate patients regarding digestive health, prevention, and lifestyle modifications.

Qualifications & Requirements

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by DOH Abu Dhabi.
• Board Certification / Fellowship in Gastroenterology.
• Valid DOH Consultant License or Eligibility Letter in Gastroenterology.
• Minimum 5–7 years of post-board consultant experience in a reputed hospital or healthcare institution.
• Expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures.
• Fluency in Arabic (mandatory) and English (preferred).

Preferred Skills

• Experience in hepatology and management of chronic liver diseases.
• Exposure to advanced endoscopic procedures is an advantage.
• Strong patient communication and counseling skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment.
