Job summary

ALEC Technologies is seeking a meticulous Document Controller in the UAE to support production, QA/QC, and project teams by managing technical documents and quality records with precision. You will handle submittals, maintain filing systems, and ensure information flows smoothly for successful project execution.

You will work with design, production, and QA/QC teams, using Aconex/Unifier and modern filing practices to keep documentation accessible, up-to-date, and compliant with ISO 9001

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a document control role in construction environment.
• 2 years in QA/QC department is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and document management software.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems and QA/QC documentation.
• Ability to read joinery/architectural drawings and implement traceability.

Responsibilities

• Update submittal/Records status and keep registers current.
• Distribute submittals from sub-contractors for internal review per the Distribution Matrix.
• Submit project submittals with transmittal cover to the consultant.
• Scan and upload commented/approved submittals to the document management system.
• Label files properly with traceability of records.
• Maintain ISO 9001 filing reliability and housekeeping.
• Use and operate the document management system (Aconex/Unifier).
• Save project documents/records in established folder structures.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and terms of agreement.
• Prepare ad-hoc project reports as needed.
• Indicate original documents (construction drawings, schematics, statutory) clearly and retrieve easily.
