Role Context
The Communications Attendant serves as a central coordination point during daily waterpark, beach, and pool operations, helping operational teams stay connected through clear and timely communication. The role supports lifeguards, supervisors, and other departments by maintaining radio contact, recording operational calls, tracking service interruptions, preparing rotation information, and completing administrative tasks.
Accurate communication is particularly important in a large leisure environment where multiple teams must work together throughout the day. By keeping information organized and available, the Communications Attendant contributes to operational continuity, response coordination, safety support, and a consistent guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an accurate inventory of operational radios and communication equipment.
- Issue and receive radios according to established procedures.
- Record radio calls during daily waterpark operations.
- Maintain clear communication between lifeguards, supervisors, and supporting departments.
- Monitor radio traffic and relay important operational information promptly.
- Log service interruptions and other operational incidents as they occur.
- Keep communication records complete, accurate, and available for review.
- Assist with inventories of lifeguard equipment.
- Track equipment availability and report missing or damaged items.
- Prepare daily lifeguard rotation schedules according to operational requirements.
- Support supervisors with changes to lifeguard deployment during the operating day.
- Complete attendance-related administrative duties.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with routine operational administration for waterpark, beach, and pool facilities.
- Coordinate information between operations teams and departments working around marine and aquatic areas.
- Escalate important service or communication issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain organized records for daily operational activities.
- Support shift handovers by ensuring key information is communicated clearly.
- Help ensure radios and related equipment are ready for daily use.
