Job summary

Minor Hotels is seeking a Kitchen Assistant at Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort to support food prep, uphold hygiene and assist during events. Basic knowledge of food prep, kitchen equipment, and English communication are required along with a willingness to work in a fast-paced luxury kitchen.

You will contribute to high standards of safety and sanitation, help maintain presentation guidelines, and gain opportunities within a global hospitality group.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (HACCP knowledge is an advantage).
• Ability to prepare ingredients, sauces, and dishes according to recipes and standards.
• Good knife handling and food presentation skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Basic English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• To assist in the preparation & service of food, prepare mis-en-place for the outlets as required.
• Adhere to food preparation and presentation guidelines to ensure consistent quality culinary offerings to our guests.
• Continually look to recommend improvements and additions to the Minor Hotels presentation guidelines.
• To keep all working areas clean and tidy to maintain hygienic surroundings.
• Maintain food safety & protection.
• All food in working areas should be in compliance with food handling techniques, including dating, proper storage, rotation, etc.
• Maintain basic food safety and sanitation practices.
• Taking responsibility for looking after all hotel property and facilities.
• Participating in departmental training to improve departmental skills and hotel service levels.
