Job summary

Mama Shelter Dubai is seeking a Commis 1 to join our kitchen team. Bring passion for food, teamwork, and creativity as you craft dishes and support the Gang during service.

You will master mise en place, maintain your station, and learn from senior chefs while upholding safety and cleanliness standards. 2–3 years in a professional kitchen is expected.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in a professional kitchen
• Solid knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation
• Organisation and station upkeep at all times
• Able to work under pressure with focus on quality
• Attention to detail in seasoning and plating
• Team player with a positive, collaborative attitude
• Willingness to learn and grow culinary skills

• Deliver consistent quality, flavour, and presentation
• Own and maintain your station: organised and stocked
• Reduce waste and manage ingredients efficiently
• Adhere to all food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and ensure cleanliness after service
• Support teammates during busy services and contribute to a positive kitchen environment
• Share knowledge with Commis 2 and Commis 3 to help the team grow
• Stay curious about new techniques and seasonal ingredients
