Job summary

Confidential Careers is seeking an experienced Project Engineer – Civil in the Abu Dhabi area to oversee civil construction from planning through completion. You will supervise on-site activities, coordinate with stakeholders, review drawings and submittals, and ensure safety and quality compliance.

The role requires a minimum of five years of civil construction experience, strong CAD/office skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced project environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of civil construction and project execution experience.
• Experience in site supervision, project coordination, and construction management.
• Strong knowledge of structural, concrete, finishing, infrastructure, and general building works.
• Experience reviewing drawings, BOQs, specifications, method statements, and material submittals.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, HSE requirements, and construction standards.
• Excellent communication, coordination, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; scheduling software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise civil construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and applicable standards.
• Plan, monitor, and control site activities to achieve project milestones and timely completion.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders for smooth project execution.
• Review and coordinate shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documentation.
• Monitor site progress, manpower, materials, and resources to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with quality standards and project requirements.
• Work closely with QA/QC and HSE teams to maintain compliance with quality and safety regulations.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure adherence to contractual obligations and project schedules.
• Review quantities, BOQs, variations, quotations, and additional work scopes.
• Prepare progress reports, technical reports, inspection requests, and project documentation.
• Identify and resolve technical and construction-related issues in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Attend project meetings, site inspections, and coordination meetings.
• Support project planning, procurement, cost control, and commercial activities.
• Ensure successful project handover, including inspections, testing, snag rectification, as-built documentation, and close-out requirements.
