Job summary

DOUGLAS OHI - L.L.C - O.P.C. is seeking a Civil Engineer to produce complete, accurate, biddable and buildable sets of plans for all structures within a project, with minimal manpower use. The role covers design and construction process understanding, and adherence to health and safety standards.

The engineer will engage with clients, architects, contractors, and suppliers; supervise on-site activities; and ensure compliance with QHSE policies while meeting deadlines and budget constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Strong mathematical, scientific, and IT proficiency.
• Ability to clearly explain design ideas and plans.
• Capacity to analyze large data sets and assess potential solutions.
• Confident decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and meet deadlines.
• Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements in construction.
• Good awareness of QHSE policies and ISO standards.

Responsibilities

• Engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineering professionals, subcontractors, and the public.
• Take full responsibility for health and safety on site.
• Apply sound judgement and problem-solving skills on the job.
• Supervise construction activities on a daily basis.
• Manage supply logistics and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Prepare and manage construction schedules.
• Develop and provide clear, practical construction plans.
• Monitor availability and provision of required materials.
• Coordinate with foremen, charge hands, and workers in daily operations.
• Oversee and guide subcontractors’ work to align with project specifications.
• Ensure high standards of workmanship are maintained.
• Ensure strict adherence to company QHSE policies and procedures.
• Coordinate concrete supply from vendors as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the reporting manager.
