Job summary

Rixos Premium Dubai JBR, a luxury hotel, seeks a Demi Chef/Commis Chef to join the kitchen team in Dubai. You will organize section mise-en-place, assign tasks, monitor portions and quality, and ensure hygiene and safety policies are followed.

Your role requires English proficiency, strong leadership, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Benefits include duty meals and medical insurance.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing and oral proficiency in English.
• Strong leadership, training and motivational skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a stressful fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name badges.
• Organize shifting in the section with regard to mise-en-place production and its service.
• Give tasks to Demi Chefs and Commis Chefs and check that they are carried out.
• Write daily wine, dry store, food requisitions and kitchen transfers for approval by senior chefs.
• Maintain good colleague relations and motivate colleagues.
• Ensure training on a one-to-one basis has been carried out and comprehended.
• Check daily food preparation regarding portion size, quantity and quality as per recipes.
• Complete the daily Mise-en-place and food storage checklist.
• Attend daily and monthly meetings with the Chef de Cuisine and senior chefs.
• Report machinery and equipment issues and follow up on repairs.
• Keep the section clean and tidy and pass information to next shift.
• Record accidents and sickness in the log book and report to senior chefs.
