Job summary

Builtroom is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive new business opportunities in the commercial fit-out and interior contracting market. You will build and maintain relationships with clients, developers, consultants, architects, interior designers and project managers to secure awarded projects.

You will identify leads, manage a healthy pipeline, coordinate with estimating and project teams, and negotiate commercial terms to win tenders and proposals.

Qualifications

• Proven business development experience within the fit-out/interior contracting industry.
• Strong existing network of contacts within the local construction, interiors and real estate market.
• Track record of generating leads and converting opportunities into fit-out projects.
• Understanding of the fit-out project lifecycle, tendering process and commercial environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to attend client meetings and project sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities across the commercial fit-out and interior contracting market.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, developers, consultants, architects, interior designers, project managers and other key decision-makers.
• Generate qualified project leads and maintain a healthy pipeline of upcoming fit-out opportunities.
• Proactively approach prospective clients and arrange meetings, presentations and introductions.
• Track upcoming projects, tenders and market opportunities from early stages through to award.
• Work closely with the estimating, design and project teams to prepare proposals, tenders and commercial submissions.
• Understand client requirements and position the company’s capabilities appropriately.
• Follow up on proposals and negotiate commercial terms to help convert opportunities into awarded projects.
• Maintain accurate records of leads, client meetings, opportunities and business development activity.
• Represent the company at industry events, networking opportunities and client meetings.
• Monitor competitor activity and wider market developments to identify potential opportunities.
