Job summary

Atlantis, The Palm (Kerzner International) seeks a BMS Technician 2 in Dubai to monitor and operate the Building Management System, respond to alarms, and troubleshoot control issues in collaboration with HVAC, Electrical and Mechanical teams.

You will inspect field devices, optimize equipment operation, interpret drawings, and maintain logs, contributing to efficient building services and energy management. On-site role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ITI qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation or equivalent.
• Minimum 2–3 years Building Management System experience in a similar facility or building.
• Knowledge of Siemens BMS or equivalent systems.
• Understanding of HVAC controls, field devices, alarms, energy monitoring and building automation principles.
• Ability to interpret drawings and control schematics; basic computer skills for BMS operation.

Responsibilities

• Record operational parameters and maintain routine system logs.

• Support maintenance and troubleshooting of VFDs and control systems.
• Assist with calibration, repair and installation of BMS-related equipment.
• Coordinate with Engineering teams for system adjustments and integration.
• Support with safety and training, ensuring compliance with HSE requirements.

About the Role

As BMS Technician 2, you will monitor and operate the Building Management System while responding to alarms, abnormal readings and equipment faults that could affect building services. Working alongside HVAC, Electrical and Mechanical teams, you will help troubleshoot control issues, inspect field devices and optimize equipment operation through the BMS.

BMS Operations and Monitoring

• Monitor and operate BMS screens, control panels and field controllers.
• Troubleshoot building automation and associated control systems.
• Respond to BMS alarms, notifications and system faults.
• Take appropriate corrective action or escape technical issues when required.
• Record operational parameters and maintain routine system logs.
• Monitor energy usage and identify abnormal system performance.
• Report unusual readings, faults and performance deviations to supervisors and the Team Leader.
• Maintain control rooms, panels and work areas in clean and orderly condition.

Controls and Field Devices

• Inspect and diagnose sensors, actuators and other BMS field devices.
• Support maintenance and troubleshooting of VFDs and control systems.
• Assist with calibration, repair and installation of BMS-related equipment.
• Read and interpret drawings and control schematics when investigating faults.
• Support reliable operation of HVAC controls and associated automation.
• Assist with equipment integration and system adjustments.

System Performance and Coordination

Use the BMS to support efficient operation of HVAC equipment, pumps, fans and other mechanical systems. Coordinate with relevant Engineering teams when system adjustments, troubleshooting or equipment integration requires multidisciplinary support. You will also identify opportunities for system improvement and operational efficiency and provide appropriate recommendations to the team.

Safety and Technical Support

All assigned work must be completed according to facility procedures and applicable HSE requirements. The role also supports Technician 1 and may assist with technical training when required, contributing to consistent BMS operating practices across the Engineering team.

About You

Candidates should hold a Diploma or ITI qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation or an equivalent technical discipline. A minimum of two to three years of Building Management System experience in a similar facility or building environment is required. Knowledge of Siemens BMS or equivalent systems is expected. You should understand HVAC controls, field devices, alarms, energy monitoring and building automation principles. The ability to interpret drawings and control schematics is important, along with basic computer skills required for BMS operation and technical monitoring.
