Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai invites applications for a Demi Chef de Partie to join the Banquets team. You will prepare and present high‑quality dishes while maintaining stringent hygiene and safety standards in a luxury hotel setting.

Based at Dubai, you will support the Chef de Partie, contribute to menu development, and ensure consistent execution across events and banquets. Fluency in English is required and a passion for cooking is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; formal culinary training is an advantage.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as Demi Chef de Partie in a main kitchen or hot kitchen section of a 5‑star hotel or high‑end restaurant.
• Solid knowledge and hands‑on experience in banquet/main kitchen.
• Strong understanding of HACCP and food safety practices.
• Effective communication skills in English (verbal & written); knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
• Creativity, passion for cooking, and a team‑oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef de Partie in the preparation and execution of high‑quality dishes and mise en place.
• Ensure ingredients and recipes are followed precisely, maintaining consistency and excellence.
• Monitor stock and inventory levels in your section, ensuring timely requisitions and minimal waste.
• Collaborate with the team in the development of new recipes.
• Support broader kitchen operations and cross‑functional tasks as needed.
• Uphold and comply with health, food safety, and hygiene standards in line with hotel policies, HACCP requirements.
