Job summary

InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah Mina Al Arab Resort & Spa is seeking a Commis II – Bakery to join our Culinary team. You will assist in preparing breads, pastries and baked goods, supporting daily operations and ensuring quality, safety and consistency across outlets in a luxury resort setting.

We value a Diploma in Culinary Arts or Bakery, hands-on bakery experience, and a proactive, detail-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Vocational Certificate in Culinary Arts, Bakery or equivalent.
• Experience in a professional bakery, preferably in hotel/resort kitchens.
• Knowledge of bread-making techniques, dough prep and baking processes.
• Familiarity with bakery equipment and food safety practices.
• Willingness to learn, follow senior chefs, and develop skills.
• Good teamwork, communication and time management.

Responsibilities

• Assist bakery team in producing breads, rolls, pastries to standard recipes.
• Support daily bakery operations including mixing, kneading, shaping and baking.
• Organise mise-en-place to ensure smooth production flow.
• Maintain quality, taste, texture and presentation of bakery items.
• Store, label and rotate ingredients and products using FIFO.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper use of bakery equipment and stations.
• Adhere to food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Assist Chef de Partie and seniors in daily production and reduce waste.
• Coordinate with culinary team to prep items for outlets and service.
