Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a senior cloud/DevOps leader to own and evolve the cloud platforms across AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will guide multi-tenant environments, mentor engineers, and drive secure, scalable cloud initiatives in partnership with senior leadership.

You will shape adoption strategies, ensure high availability, automate security controls, and oversee client deliverables while aligning AI-enabled practices with enterprise goals.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in IT/digital transformation and cloud environments.
• 5+ years hands-on AWS, Azure, or GCP experience.
• Experience leading multi-tenant cloud systems and secure solutions.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Own the current state of AWS systems and identify gaps for improvement
• Improve operational excellence across the USPTO AWS environment
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and objectives
• Lead a team of DevOps Engineers to ensure secure cloud strategies
• Partner with senior leadership to build cloud adoption strategies
• Oversee client deliverables and help adopt AI practices

Requirements

• U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder eligible for Public Trust clearance
• 10+ years of IT/digital transformation experience
• 5+ years of hands-on AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud architectures and implementations
• Expertise leading multi-tenant cloud systems such as landing zones
• Experience managing high-availability, secure, and automated solutions
• Strong team management and mentorship skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps tools including Terraform, Jenkins, and GitLab
• Professional Cloud Certifications in AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience bridging on-premise systems with cloud environments
