Job summary

Gea Group in Dubai, UAE seeks a Field Service Engineer for automation systems installation, commissioning, and maintenance across the Middle East. You will support I/O testing, PLC changes, process optimization, and CIP testing for liquid and powder processing applications.

You will coordinate with panel/skid manufacturers, prepare proposals, and travel extensively to meet customer needs while maintaining high service quality and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical or Mechatronics engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in industrial automation, commissioning or field service.
• Strong knowledge of PLC, HMI, SCADA, and process control systems.
• Experience in food, dairy, beverage, pharma, chemical, or process industries preferred.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, control schematics, and P&IDs.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing abilities.
• Fluent in English; additional regional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, install, maintain, provide remote support, and repair GEA automation systems and equipment.
• Supervise and support installation and commissioning, including I/O tests, PLC changes, and CIP tests.
• Perform field service across the Middle East and support upgrades and modernization projects.
• Prepare technical proposals and assist with installation and commissioning.
• Coordinate with external panel/skid manufacturers for repairs and upgrades.
• Maintain service documentation and customer visit reports; ensure timely updates.
• Communicate proactively with customers and advise on asset maintenance and best practices.
• Identify aftermarket opportunities in spare parts, upgrades, and digital solutions.
• Travel extensively within the Middle East to support customer requirements.
