Job summary

Star Services is seeking an experienced technician for the steel rolling mill finishing area in Abu Dhabi. The role involves assisting senior technicians and operators in day-to-day finishing tasks and ensuring efficient handling of finished steel products.

You will help with inspections, material handling, equipment changeovers, and basic maintenance under supervision, while maintaining high housekeeping standards and strict safety procedures.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in the steel rolling mill finishing area.
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree is required.
• Experience in production, quality and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Technicians and operators in daily finishing section activities.
• Support handling, stacking, bundling, tagging and identification of finished products.
• Assist in inspection and segregation of finished products as per quality requirements.
• Support cutting, grinding, straightening, bundling and material handling activities as applicable.
• Assist during equipment changeover, adjustment, cleaning and basic maintenance.
• Support preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance under supervision.
• Assist with tools, tackles, spares and equipment for finishing operations.
• Maintain housekeeping and ensure the work area is clean and safe.
• Follow production, quality, safety and material handling instructions.
• Report abnormal conditions, product defects, equipment problems and unsafe conditions.
• Follow PPE, LOTO, work permit and other HSE procedures.
• Support shutdown and planned maintenance activities when required.
• Coordinate with crane operators and others for safe movement of finished steel products.
• Maintain basic production/inspection/maintenance records.
