Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking an Assistant- Finishing (Steel Industry) in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role requires 5 years of experience in steel finishing and rolling mill operations, with a Diploma or Bachelor's degree.

You will assist senior technicians, handle finishing processes, ensure quality and safety, coordinate with crane operators, and maintain records. This position emphasizes hands-on support and adherence to HSE procedures.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in steel industry rolling mill operations.
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Technicians and operators in day-to-day finishing section activities.
• Support handling, stacking, bundling, tagging, and identification of finished steel products.
• Assist in inspection and segregation of finished products as per quality requirements.
• Support cutting, grinding, straightening, bundling, and material handling, as applicable.
• Assist during equipment changeover, adjustment, cleaning, and basic maintenance activities.
• Support preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities under supervision.
• Assist with tools, tackles, spares, and equipment required for finishing operations.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure the work area remains clean and safe.
• Follow instructions related to production, quality, safety, and material handling.
• Report abnormal conditions, product defects, equipment problems, and unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
• Follow PPE, LOTO, work permit, and other applicable HSE procedures.
• Support shutdown and planned maintenance activities when required.
• Coordinate with crane operators and other personnel for safe movement of finished steel products.
• Maintain basic production/inspection/maintenance records as required.
