Job summary

Star Services in the UAE is looking for an experienced Technician/Fitter to support steel plant maintenance and ensure production runs smoothly.

The role requires a Diploma in Engineering and extensive hands-on experience (5-6 years as Technician/Fitter; 7-8 years in mechanical maintenance at a steel plant) with leadership responsibilities.

You will perform scheduled maintenance, corrective repairs, and troubleshooting, coordinating with other departments to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• 5-6 years of experience as Technician/Fitter in a steel plant.
• 7-8 years of experience in mechanical maintenance of steel plants as Sr. Technician/Mechanic.
• Diploma in Engineering is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance to optimize production.
• Carry out corrective maintenance and major repairs to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot breakdowns and determine root causes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Optimize Production: To execute all scheduled (day-to-day, preventive) maintenance, corrective maintenance and major repairs of the equipment's in order to optimize production & minimize plant down time for maintenance related development works Prompt Trouble Shooting: Responsible for trouble shooting during breakdowns of mechanical equipment's and provide the assistance to find out the root cause for corrective action maintenance related development works Providing Solutions: Responsible for attending mechanical maintenance problems during breakdowns in the RM Plant. To communicate to superiors of any abnormalities found in the mill in order to plan & rectify the same. Audit and Investigation: Inspection of equipment's to meet engineering principles and safety regulations in maintenance related development works. Maintenance Support: To assist and help Superiors in Mechanical Maintenance (RM ) in all technical areas to ensure smooth maintenance of the RM for uninterrupted production and co-ordination with other departments. Implementing Standards: Follow mechanical maintenance standards for all equipment in the RM Plant. Policies and Procedures Management: To follow all relevant safety, quality, health and environmental management policies, procedures applicable to maintenance related development. Supervision:To lead a group of Technician / Fitter (instruction and guidance to Technician / Fitter) and participate in maintenance related development works.
