Job summary

STAR SERVICES LLC is seeking a billet handling operator with strong steel industry experience to oversee casting operations, ensure billet quality, and coordinate with QC. The role requires hands-on expertise in gas cutting and adherence to Emirates Steel QS Program and ASME standards.

Ideal candidates have around 5 years in billet handling within a steel plant, plus knowledge of billet quality assessment and storage practices.

Qualifications

• Around 5 years in a steel plant as a billet handling operator.
• Higher Secondary in Engineering
• In-depth technical knowledge of billet quality

Responsibilities

• Ensures the effective implementation of operational policies covering all areas of the casting plant so that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a cost –effective quality product to RM operation.
• Carries out timely check on the billet quality to ensure consistent product quality
• Sample collection by gas cutting.
• Co-ordinates with QC to ensure that the quality and quantity of the product delivered are consistent.
• Shall be responsible for performing semi-finished product identification, segregation, handling & storage as specified in the Emirates Steel QS Program to ensure compliance to applicable Standards, ASME Code and Customer requirements
