Job summary

EDGE Group is seeking an experienced Special Processes Manager to lead the greenfield setup, investment, and development of aerospace special processes including shot peening, thermal spray coatings, heat treatment, brazing, and chemical processing.

You will drive NPI, industrialization, and production readiness for in-house capabilities, collaborating with design, quality, and supply chain to deliver cost-effective, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 10+ years in aerospace or propulsion manufacturing with special process focus.
• Proven greenfield setup, capital investment, and industrialization experience.
• Hands-on expertise in at least two aero-engine special processes (e.g., shot peening, thermal spray, heat treatment).
• Leadership in NPI and concurrent engineering environments.
• Knowledge of NADCAP requirements and process qualification methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead greenfield establishment of in-house special process capabilities and equipment investments.
• Define process routings, specifications, and control plans for new cells.
• Drive NPI activities from prototype to production readiness for engine programs.
• Collaborate with design, quality, supply chain and vendors to ensure manufacturability.
• Develop supplier capability assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain NADCAP readiness and ensure compliance with aerospace QA standards.
